Tripwire
by Brian Garfield

Boag was up against it: cashiered from the Army, then getting hijacked to be involved in a gold heist by men who couldn't be trusted. He finds his brother dead, and himself alone -- left for dead in a hostile environment. He has two options -- track Jed Pickett and get his revenge and gold, or lie down and die.

"... the action moves breathlessly, there is a Grade-A sumbitch of a villain, and the strong silent Boag is a man for all men and happens to be black."
