Jim DeFelice

A master storyteller, NY Times Bestselling author Jim DeFelice is best-known for his vivid, raw, and powerful portrayals of American military heroes.

He and Navy SEAL Chris Kyle co-wrote the iconic memoir American Sniper (the #1 NY Times Bestseller, made into the film starring Bradley Cooper). His most recent NY Times Bestselling memoir Every Man a Hero honors the 75th Anniversary of D-Day through the selfless heroism of 98-year-old WWII veteran Albert R. Lambert, a medic in the US Army’s 16 th Regiment who tended to hundreds of wounded soldiers in the invasions of Tunisia, Sicily, and Normandy on the fateful day known as D-Day.

A prolific writer with more than 50 novels and non-fiction books in print—16 of them on the NY Times Bestsellers list—DeFelice delivers cinematic action and adventure on every page: from high- adrenaline, futuristic political thrillers like Helios and the Puppetmaster series to the rollicking 19th century saga of the Old West, through the gutsy exploits and corporate chicanery of the legendary Pony Express in West Like Lightning.

Delving deeply into the human experience of war, history, geopolitics, and cutting edge technology, DeFelice has written on a wide range of subjects. His meticulously researched military histories capture the WWII-era in Rangers At Dieppe and the groundbreaking biography on America's WWII-era Five Star General, Omar Bradley: General at War.

His books on the post-9/11 heroes of the Iraqi and Afghanistan wars include three other memoirs Code Name: Johnny Walker, American Wife (written with Chris Kyle’s widow, Taya, after Chris was tragically murdered), and Fighting Blind, along with the critically acclaimed novel, Leopards Kill. DeFelice has written a number of screenplays. He also helped create and wrote the storylines for several video games, most notably Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, and Afro Samurai.
